Hi, I hope everyone's well...I realised that I've recently been using a few new products as the weathers warming up and I've found I really like them so I thought I'd share!
Absolutely loving this new foundation, its perfect for what I require. Its the Estee Lauder double-wear light. It's oil free, goes on like a dream and really blends well. I made the mistake of getting one shade too dark so now have to mix it a little with a lighter shade, but I still swear by it. It has light to medium coverage, which is perfect for summer.
I splurged somewhat on this La Roche-Posay skin care kit. It's supposed to be aimed at helping with hyperpigmentation and evening out skin tone. I can't say that's really something I suffer from I think all the creams would still be great for the skin during the summer. Theres a bottle of cleansing micellar solution, it's gentle and works well on eye make-up. There's a Vit C cream, which is great for skin renewal. An SPF 60 cream again great for the warmer weather. And lastly a serum with AHA's. I use this before bed and have found its keeping my skin clear which is a great bonus!
Not usually one for a toner, I quite like this alcohol free one from Nivea. It's designed for oily combination skin, to help keep a moisture balance. Not totally convinced but I probably need to give it a little longer to give a fair review.
Also my new must have mascara. The telescopic shocking extension mascara by L'Oreal, I love it. It glides on nicely really does a good job of extended and thickening the lashes without forming any clumps. I struggle with most mascaras and clumping, and thats my main issue with Maybelline although they make the lashes long and think there's always clumps!
Now I'm someone who has tried pretty much all the drug store mascaras out there from Benefit's They're real to Clinique and I have to say this may well be my new fave.
New skin primer from L'Oreal, its the Magic Lumi light infusing primer, this works well to to highlight areas such as the brow bone and cheek bones, I tend not to use this all over to prevent looking too glisteny. Also loving this Estee Lauder Daywear cream with SPF 15, this is good for days that are not so warm, It is quite heavy and moisturising so I tend to use this when I'm having a make up free day.
Love to hear what products you guys are loving and if you have any skin care recommendations for the warmer weather.

Embellished Blazers
Just seen a few eye catching pieces on the Minusey website, and thought I would share. They're are very Balmain-esque and look so much more expensive than they actually are..
This is really getting my creativity flowing and am wondering whether it would be possible to create a DIY version of one of the above? I mean I have way too many plain black blazers and probably could sacrifice one in the name of art...hmmmm...I think I might just do that!
Self confidence
I mentioned in my very first blog post that I wanted this blog to focus on more than just fashion and beauty. In particular I wanted to use my experience working as a doctor dealing with people and the issues they face and try to somehow put that to good use on this forum. One particular issue that comes to mind is self confidence.
These two words sound so straight forward yet mean so much. I often see people of all ages who suffer from low self esteem and come to see me in the hope that I can some how fix their problem with some medication that will maybe calm their nerves, or help them relax, or even make them more interesting. But the reality is that confidence is something which comes from with in. It's something that we each have to find in ourselves, the qualities that make us unique and interesting.
I realise this is easier said than done. In modern day society there seems to be an ever growing rat race where everyone needs to have the best of everything, look a certain way, be fashionable, have the latest gadgets, be popular, associate with the right people, to feel important or worthwhile. It can be a mine field to negotiate your way through and then also find the time to discover who you are as a person can be next to impossible.
If we were to look at the internet, and platforms like you tube and even blogs, we are constantly inundated with beautiful people, who want to share their beauty tips or their room tours or their latest hauls etc it can be overwhelming trying to keep up with it all, and its more difficult now because we cant seem to get away from all the information exchange, and the standards that people have unintentionally set for others.
Now in no way am I saying we need to cut ourselves off from these media outlets for fear of the effects, in fact I think it can be entertaining and a great way to meet new people and exchange ideas, hence me starting my own blog. But I do think we need to make sure we don't try and aspire to unrealistic images of other people to feel of value ourselves. Because ultimately having the latest make up, or nicest room tour isn't what makes the world go round, its feeling good about yourself when you take away the superficial layers, its about liking the person you see in the mirror before the clothes and make up.
Now for some people this is straight forward they almost seem to be born oozing confidence and self worth and for others it can be much more of a struggle. For me it was definitely an effort, I come from a family of confident opinionated (in a nice way!) individuals so I think I found myself quite lost and struggled to find my own identity. It was like the standards had been set by my older siblings so trying to step out of their shadow was difficult. I think what worked for me was studying and living away from home, that provided me with the ideal situation to spread my wings, make my mistakes and learn who I was as a person.
I do think that sometimes we all need that space and time to really think about life, what's important to us, what we would like to do in the future and what makes us who we are. Most of us aren't the most beautiful,
or the richest or the most intelligent or the funniest of people, we run somewhere in between, but that somewhere is just as important as anywhere else. We all have unique qualities that make us who we are, and no one can replace us, so therefore we are important and necessary even though we may not feel it at times. We need to keep reminding ourselves of our strengths and not spend our time focusing on weaknesses or comparing ourselves to others.
" I am aware that I am less than some people prefer me to be, but most people are unaware that I am so much more that what they see"

I Heart Burberry....
Just seen the Burberry Prorsum resort 2014 collection....amazing! I want everything, yes I realise that's as likely as winning the lottery but a girl can dream and that's sure as hell what I'm going to do...I've already started looking for a more affordable version of the cream crotchet midi skirt, I'll let you know how the search goes! I think Christopher Bailey has done an amazing job of reinventing the label, and seems to surprise season after season with a versatile and most importantly wearable collection.
Let me know what you think......
